You have two choices when selecting the hardware that is placed on the back of your hair bows:
1) The "alligator clip" (sometimes referred to as a "clippy" or a "pinch clip") is shaped like an alligators mouth. You would pinch it to open it and release to close it. We have found that this is the most popular clip for most moms to use. They first put the hair in a pigtail with a rubber band...then open the clip and pinch it right onto the elastic ponytail. It is approximately 1.75 - 2 inches in length. All of our alligator pinch clips are partially lined with a ribbon covering and have an inside gripper of either rubber or velvet. You are always welcome to leave us a comment in the box you see at checkout that you would, or would not, like grippers placed on your pinch clip.
2) The french barrettes are metal with a french clasp that fully close. You squeeze one end to open a bar, place it in the hair, and then snap it back down. This type of bow hardware is preferred when you will be doing activity, or when the alligator pinch clip slips from the open end.

Hair Bow Sizing and Widths:
Small (Baby & Toddler Size): Small Bows measure 3-3.5 inches across. Best for infants to toddlers, or for those of you who prefer a more petite hair bow. A great size for little piggy tails!
Medium (Toddler & Girls): Medium bows measure 4-4.5 inches. A good size for toddlers 1 on up. Great for medium sized piggy tails or a single pony. This is our most popular size.
Large (Older Toddlers & Girls): Large Bows Measures 5-5.5 inches. Best for mom's who prefer a large size bow. Cute on little girls from 3 on up, although we've seen this size on infants and they look extremely cute. Not all bows will look as good in a large size (ruffle being one of them). Please ask us if you are unsure.
More Sizing Information and Sizing Fluctuations:
Whichever hair bow size you order (small, medium or large), can vary up to one half inch. This is because each of our products are hand made by a different artisian. If you are ordering bows for piggy tails, we suggest you order both together to ensure that they are as close to a match in size and styling as possible.
Your are welcome to leave us a message in the comments box you will see at checkout if you would like us to try to make a hair bow width smaller or larger. Not all bows can be made in a smaller size, and some bows do not look as good when they are large (like ruffle bows).
Semi-Custom Hair Bows:
Do you need a special bow to match the perfect outfit? We are happy to semi-customize at no extra charge. This means that we will switch out the products current ribbon colors with those that you request! This is an economical and quick way to get a super styled hair bow design that you choose to match a favorite outfit. Please leave us a comment in the box at checkout with your color requests for the change out. You may also e-mail us a photo of your outfit, however computer monitors do vary and color fluctuations are very possible.
