The "alligator clip" (sometimes referred to as a "clippy" or a "pincurl clip") is shaped like an alligators mouth. You would pinch it to open it and release to close it. We have found that this is the most popular clip for most moms to use. They first put the hair in a pigtail with a rubber band...then open the clip and pinch it right onto the elastic ponytail.

 Non Slip-Baby Clippies

• Our baby clippies are the very best. And are known for their "No Slip Grip"!
• We use mostly alligator pinch clips which are know to grip nicely
• They work well on all kinds of baby hair, even on newborns!
• All Clips are lined on the inside and partially outside for maximum gripping.
• Our baby bows range in size from 1 3/4 to 3 inches. All sizes are stated in the description of the bow.
• Clippie Tips-If you are really having trouble with the clip staying in very fine hair...We recommend applying a small amount of honey to the hair. Then just place the clip onto the hair. This should stay all day. You can wash her hair and clippie with a small amount of water.  Or, you can ask us to apply velvet or a gripper to the inside of the clip.  Leave us a note in the comments section if you would like this special arrangement.  

   

Baby Bows & Headbands

• All of our headbands are made to stretch very well, although some fabrics have more stretch than others. They have a very light feel on the babies head.
• (Each bow may vary slightly, as they are all handmade)
• Most of our headbands will stretch to fit from 0-5 toddler nicely.  If you are concerned that a band may be too big or too small, simply leave us a head measurement in the comments box at checkout and we will make sure that the band fits, or will let you know that we do not have a color selection and will make a suggestion.  
• All infant and newborn headbands will fit from 0-12 months nicely.  The shimmer elastic for newborns age 0-3 months is approximately 12-12.5 inches.  For size selection 3-12 months, the elastic will be cut and measured to approximately 13-13.5 inches.  For over 12 months, we will cut at 14-14.5 inches.  If you request shimmer elastic for older girls, we can cut that as well to fit their head measurement.  If you are unsure about the fit, simply leave us a comment in the box at checkout and we will gladly customize the size of elastic to your baby's head at no additional cost.    

Custom Hair Bows & Baby Headbands

Do you need a special bow to match the perfect outfit?

Please contact us, and we can quote you a price for a custom hair bow or headband.   Custom headbands are listed on our site for $27.95.  

An less expensive alternative to ordering a custom bows is to "semi-customize" a style already listed to match your needs.  This simply means that you select the bow style that you like, and then let us know what color choice you would like instead of what is listed.  We will change out the ribbons for you.  We may not have all styles of ribbon to do the semi-customization.  In that case, we will do whatever looks best with the style that you select.  There is no additional charge for semi-customization.

Girls Hair Bow Sizes

Some of our Hair Bows (offered on an alligator pinch clip or barrette) come in a Bow Size Choice. Here are the sizes:

Small (Toddler size):   Small Bows measure 3-3.5 inches- Best for older infants to toddlers, or for those of you who prefer a more petite hair bow.  A great size for little piggy tails!

Girls Size Medium Bow Measures 4 inches. A good size for toddlers 1on up. Great for medium sized piggy tails or a single pony. This is our most popular size.

Big Girls Size Large Bow Measures 5-5.5 inches. Best for mom's who prefer a large size bow. Cute on little girls ages 3 years, to school age girls, although we've seen this size on infants and they look extremely cute.  Not all bows will look as good in a large size.  Please ask us if you are unsure.

All of our bows are put on either alligator pinch clips or french barrettes.  If we do not offer you a choice in the selection que, please leave us a message in the comments box at checkout.  We would be happy to put your bow on either a pinch clip or barrette.
